Little Things Make Big Things Happen

Hello October! With 2 months left in the year there is no better time to invest in you, refocus and finish the year strong. Let's embark on this journey together.

Reflect on your progress

Before we look forward to the next 2 months, let's take a moment to reflect on your fitness journey so far. Even if you have made the tiniest progress, it still matters - keep going. Celebrate the victories, whether big or small. Acknowledge the obstacles you have overcome. Use this reflection to relight the fire in you and propel you forward.

Set, Clear, Attainable Goals

Define what success looks like for you. This is your journey no one else's. Set clear, attainable goals. What do you want to achieve in the 4 weeks' time? 8 weeks' time? Setting a clear deadline for achieving your goals will help you prioritise your efforts. How does this goal match up with your long term goals? (hmmm...I feel another blog post coming just about this alone!) I'll carry on before I go further down this rabbit hole. Having well-defined objectives will keep you motivated and focused. The biggest challenge is to expect that results will come really quickly. Start small, with small changes to your exercise routine and nutrition. Changes will happen.

Mix up your routine

Some people can have chicken and rice all the time - personally I need to variety in my diet. This should be no different for your exercise routine. As a summer girl, I personally struggle to adjust to the autumnal season, however, October can bring a variety of outdoor activities that make fitness fun! Take advantage of admiring the changing colours of the season by going out for walks, bike rides, trail running or how about incorporating pumpkins into your workout routine? Use them as weights for squats, lunges? You might see a couple of these exercises in my fitness classes.

Nutrition is key

What and how you eat is the cornerstone of any successful fitness journey. So have a really honest look at your eating habits and start with small changes where you see you can make them. If you need advice on your nutrition, I am happy to offer a free consultation. Just book an appointment on the website.

Focus on whole, nutrient-dense foods (whole grains, tofu, tempeh, beans, lentils, peas). Even though the weather is cooling down, it's still important to keep hydrated. You need to fuel your body properly to make sure every workout is the best that it could be!

Get support

Whether it's a personal trainer, a Facebook or WhatsApp Group or your friends at the gym. Having someone to share and support you in your journey is so important for accountability and motivation. It just helps make this journey more enjoyable and keep you on track.

Rest and Recover

It's all great getting your exercise routine in regularly, but your body needs the time to rest and recover. Sleep is so important to your fitness journey as well as giving your muscles the time to recover from workouts. Listen to your body and schedule in rest days into your routine. Burnout and injury will just make this journey even harder.

Let's fall into fitness and crush our goals

So let's approach the next two months with determination, focus and commitment to our fitness goals. Finish strong. Celebrating the victories along the way. With dedication and perseverance , we can crush our fitness goals and enter the new year as a healthier, stronger version of our ourselves. Let the journey begin!
